Dental Certification Standards program

The CRDA Costa Rica Dental Certification program assesses an organization’s licensing, physical facilities, clinical practice guidelines, clinical improvement strategies, and organizational infrastructure, dental specialists, employee safety and education, physical facility equipment and processes, quality assurance procedures, guarantees and more.

Our review process is conducted by experienced dental professionals with a goal of ensuring that the dental practice, specialist and lab meets the standards for clinic certification. The Certification process is less rigorous than the CRDA accreditation program and is often used by clinics, specialists and labs as a step toward the goal of accreditation.

The dental certification program was developed with insight and guidance from a panel of leading dentists, dental surgeons and dental business leaders to create a basic quality standard for Costa Rica dental clinics, specialists and labs. Dental clinics, specialists and labs may choose from two types of certification: BASIC or ADVANCED.

Patients are advised that a dental clinic or specialist should have achieved at least the BASIC level of certification to ensure quality care and a reliable assurance of clinical success. Patients may request a list of all current, certified dental clinics and specialists in Costa Rica.

CRDA-Certified dental clinics and specialists may earn specialized certifications by meeting specialty-specific standards. Certifications are available in prosthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, periodontics, orthodontics, maxillofacial surgery, dental implants and orthodontics.
